好的~ Now it's time to move on to what I've achieved throughout this year, in 2011.
I think that 2011 was quite a nice year, getting to try many new stuff, know new friends, new school environment, etc.
First was getting our O-levels results in Jan 2010, I SWEAR I WAS DAMN NERVOUS TILL I COULD PEE ON MY PANTS. I even brought one box of tissue paper to prepare myself if I start to cry. However, I managed to prove myself and everyone wrong. Though my results weren't perfect scores, I'm proud that I've managed to see my hard work that paid off! Be it primary school results or PSLE, there wasn't a time where my I could see my parents smile when looking at my results. But I finally managed to do it during O-levels :)
Next, during mid-jan, I went to Ngee Ann for DPA preparatory programme! It's a really new experience for me to step into a Polytechnic! I was so lucky that Syimah was always with me throughout the DPA period, if not I would have been a loner! I am so thankful to meet
"Awesomest" plus my HMS clique in DPA ;)
DPA wouldn't be complete without you guys being there! There are bad times in DPA too, but who doesn't have bad times? 都说了人生不是一帆风顺的!
Then, after the whole whooping DPA period from Jan to Mar, there was a break and school term officially started in April. By then, I was already very familiarized with the school. I know where are the offices, canteens, admin areas, etc. All thanks to DPA! :D Hence, during the HMS orientation, I remember leading my group to places they had to find during the treasure hunt (or something like that) My group is called Olea! It's been a pleasure to meet them! Well, there were obviously some awkward moments in the beginning, but we begun to open up to one another when 3 days passed!
SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES ARE ALL AWESOME PEOPLE!
WE WORK WITH A HEART (Y)
(This sounds propaganda, but IT ISN'T, just speaking the truth)
School starts officially!!!! It's the start of the Chinese shit!!!!!
Right, take back the shit word. IT'S THE START OF GOING INTO THE WORLD OF CHINESE!
The modules that we took for the first semester were still manageable~
We did projects, reports, presentations ALL in Chinese! Call us awesome please! I wonder how many students in Singapore can actually do that... Haha! I remember my first presentation in Chinese was to introduce my favorite Chinese cultural of china. Wow, I was so nervous at that point time because I wasn't confident in presenting in Chinese!!! However, after a few more tries, I managed to get use to it and starting to speak more fluently! My first test was translation test. I was a little stun upon receiving the paper because it's the first time I am doing an exam paper (Not MT CL paper) in Chinese. Hehe, that wasn't much of a problem, managed to get back immediately to answer the questions. As for Chinese cultural history, wow that paper was really badly done, because I couldn't get hold of the teacher's style. The teacher wants us to put on our thinking cap, and my mind totally blanked when I saw the questions on the test paper! :O Well, the term ended in August~ Since when studying is fun? Of course it isn't fun, but I came to realize that in polytechnics, we tend to have a lot of freedom, but we must learn to control ourselves from playing too much when tests are coming! OH YES. The laptop is being such a bitch everyday because you will always tend to surf the net during lectures instead of listening o_o Group project is also another thing. We must always choose the correct members while doing group work, and DO NOT do last minute work, you'll feel like you're dying when you realize that you're presenting in an hours time and you're not done with your slides.
Yes, before I almost forget. I think near to half of my course mates are from China, and maybe one quarter are from Malaysia, and the rest are Singaporeans! OH YES, this really interesting thing is that there are only 4 BOYS in our course! So it feels very much like attending lessons in a girls school! I'm so thankful for Huiyu for being always there for me in CHS! <3
Although it's a pity that we're in different class, it makes me even more hyped up to see you during lectures! :D
OOOHHHHH and my first friend made in CHS was Xiurong!
We met at the bus stop after HMS orientation! I found her so familiar (because I added her on FB) so I smiled to her. Then she came to talk to me, and WE WERE SO HAPPY THAT WE FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE FROM CHINESE STUDIES! I guess, that's fate! :D Following by, I met 3 other girls and we did projects together during this period. I had an enjoyable time that time!
Yesssiii, and in this sem, I've met someone that calls me flower pot because I love to wear floral prints :D and he says that polka dots are the seeds of flowers. HAHAHAHAH!!! CUTE HOR? and another person I've met this sem always teaches me weird and funky stuff like stars from the noose! Hehe! Without this two boys in class, I guess lessons will be mundane!
(Depressing because I don't have a photo taken with them! D:)
Oh yes, let's talk about CCA now! I was pondering to join either NP strings or Fencing.. I have a violin background, so maybe NP strings will be an easy way out for me to get CCA points, and I'll also get more chance to practice my violin every week! However, I also wanted to try a new sport (AND TO EXERCISE AND BURN MY FATS), so a senior suggested fencing to me. I went for both of the orientation programme, and I realized that I kinda like fencing. It looks so cool, and I'm willing to give it a try! Oh yes and Fencing has three weapons. Epee, Foil and Sabre. The reason why I chose epee is because there's no priority system! I'm already dumb enough, don't want to learn anymore priority system, I'll just poke! Hehe, and there are many many many Yusoffians inside epee! :D But now, if you asked me if I ever regretted joining epee, I'll say NO DEFINITELY NOT!
I'm so happy that I met my epee family!
+ my epee girls!
I like it when we're always there for each other, cheering each other up when we fall <3
I hope this lasts forever! Thank you *MUAX MUAXXXX*
It's always like a form of stress relieve during fencing time! Oh yes, and I've really learnt a lot through fencing. It teaches me to be calm and we must always think before we act. Not forgetting that our reaction must be fast too! Adding on, I feel healthy after exercising :)
Right... now moving on to my 2 long months of holidays from August to October!
Well, I was quite slack during that period! Did loads of catching up with secondary school mates, and I CAUGHT A LOT OF MOVIES. Say... 5-6? Haha, it was only until end September to early October, I finally found something to do! I went for relief teaching at Keming Primary School! It's been an interesting and worthwhile experience. The kids are SOOOO adorable! Even if I had to scream at them at times, they are still so cute! After 4-5 days of relief teaching, I am more sure of myself to become a teacher in the near future! So.. I must study hard!
After the holidays, it's the start of new school term! :D
I felt a little lost during the first day of school! It's like your brain not working for 2 months and suddenly you must force it to work again! LOL, however it came back fast, and slowly I'm keeping on pace with lessons. This semester is still on-going now, so I can't comment much about it. Just realized that I'm actually really lucky to finish all my projects for 4 modules before the December holidays, so I can focus solely on my reports and tests! :) I AM DETERMINED TO DO WELL, AND YES I WILL. Nothing's gonna stop me!
Really thankful for this year, because it's feels like I've reached a new phase in my life, like learning to be more independent and such...
I've come to realize who are the ones that really stays with me :)
I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUU POO, HELMET AND PUIIIIIZZZ <3
Thanks for always being there, to listen to me and it's always awesome to hang out together with you guys!
THANK YOU ANGGGGG FAMILY <3
Thank you mummy for being like my sister, always listening to me!
Thank you daddy for preaching me life values, always.
Thank you ASSHOLE ETHAN for teaching me how to be more patient!
